Hungary does not have official citizenship by investment program nor it will be happen in the future, but the Hungarian government has recently launched Guest investor (golden) immigration program does provide an ordinary pathway to citizenship in Hungary.
The newly launched golden scheme offers long term residence status to foreigners investing EUR 250,000 towards real estate investment (fund only no property).
The Golden visa scheme provides a pathway to get Hungarian citizenship by naturalizing after 8 years of uninterrupted residence in Hungary.
There are other conditions include
- Knowledge of culture, and hungarian language.
- No criminal history.
- Financially sound background.
